The "Chiacchiere" is crisp and delicate fried sheets typical of the Carnival period and are called with different names depending on the region of origin: chatter and lettuce in Lombardy, rags and damsels in Tuscany, frappe and sfrappole in Emilia, cròstoli in Trentino, galani e gale in Veneto, lies in Piedmont. And more roses, lasagna, pampuglies.. They are a very crumbly dessert, obtained by thinly pulling a simple dough subsequently fried and sprinkled with icing sugar for the final touch. Their rectangular shape, with two clean central cuts, makes the chatter unmistakable and immediately attracts from time immemorial the gluttony of young and old.
